Alasdair Dow graduated from Birmingham in 1983. He then trained in Cardiology on Manchester before continuing Anaesthetic and Intensive Care training in the South West. He spent two years working at Baltimore Shock Trauma Centre where he developed a specialist interest in anaesthesia and intensive care for all types of trauma. He returned to a research post in Bristol and then took up a Consultant post in Exeter in 1994. He is also the current Chairman of the Exeter Nuffield Medical Advisory Committee.
